Victoria’s minty road bike

There’s something inherently beautiful about the simplicity of a road bicycle. This is compared to the touring bikes with fenders, lights, and racks that I normally build. Victoria’s 46cm road bike was built from some of the lightest steel tubing available (Columbus, Dedacciai, and True Temper) and unavailable (Super Vitus 980). I was able to use 700x28c wheels while still getting the proportions correct. The brazed on cable guides on the head tube to prevent paint wear are something I will probably be using more frequently in the future. The rear dropouts are Paragon Machine Works and they were trimmed down to the bare minimum. Polished stainless seat stay caps go well with the classic looking 2×11 Campagnolo Athena group. The IRD wide double compact 46-30t crankset is a great option when a triple is overkill and it fits very well into the over style of the bike. Aside from the minty green that she picked out, she also wanted stars incorporated into it somehow. My solution was to cut a star out of the bottom bracket shell. This bike has already been making the rounds along the long shorelines of Rhode Island and should be for many years to come!
