Wow, I hear you but I can't imagine how I could lose 3 lbs from mine without resorting to carbon! I could drop 200g off wheels with ultralight rims, 50g with DA cassette, 65g with the White Industries Ti BB, 150g with lighter/smaller tires, maybe 200g swapping out all bolts with Ti = 665g, which still leaves 700g of voodoo magic to go! I'm not a weight weenie, esp being a Clydesdale myself, just very impressed with the craft to take steel, aluminum and Ti down to that weight and still have a leather saddle and 32mm tires!

Large cog on the Ti cassette is 28t. And the down tube shifters are 7900 so no fiddling with the guts!

There are ways! Mostly in the wheels, BB, small parts, and how the tubes are mitered.

One other question, I see the 10 speed cassette, but the shifters appear to be the DT7700 9 speed versions with the friction/index option. Were the guts swapped on the shifters like JP Weigle does with Campy? Also, I see the SS rear derailleur with what seems to be a 30+ rear cog? Does the slightly longer hanger on the dropout make this possible or some other voodoo?

Absolutely gorgeous bike! I am however struggling to figure out how it weighs 18lbs! I have a nearly identical setup : 55cm PegoRitchie/RS lugged frame, Nitto cockpit/post, DuraAce downtube shifters/FD/RD, 1550g wheelset, Rene Hearse Brakes/crank/extralight tires, carved Brooks Pro saddle and mine weighs almost 21lbs w/o pedals or pump! I know the devil is in the details, but how do you carve off 3 pounds with Ti components & a little drillium?! Not doubting, just impressed!

Thanks! And I think 32 were the max it was designed for but I wouldn't be surprised if a 38 fit.

Lovely build. Like the classic style, downtube shifters, centerpulls, and keeping the weight down. Guessing 32mm tires (but room for wider)?
